Aralynn
Aralynn has been sick for almost a week now. Vomiting, high fevers that we can't get below 100 degrees, confused at times, and very weak. Thinking it was just the flu, we continued giving her children's Advil and making her rest and try to drink lots of water. The fifth day of being sick, not eating a single thing, and so weak she couldn't lift her head, let alone walk, she finally slept the longest she had this whole time, two hours. She woke up screaming her back hurt and her body was ice cold. Thinking she finally broke her fever, we took a sigh of relief until her skin turned pale white and she wouldn't focus on looking at us. I took her in to Urgent Care, where they took her into xrays, did a strep test, and a urine sample. They tried putting an IV in but her blood wouldn't stop clotting. With the half of tube of blood they were able to get they took that back to the lab where they then told us she has severe kidney infection. They gave us antibiotics and made her drink a huge glass of pedialite. After a few hours of observing her and not vomiting after drinking they sent us home, but said we had to come back in the morning. That night she wouldn't take all her antibiotics and she vomited again. At four in the morning her fever spiked up to 105, so it was back to the ER. They took her back right away and were finally able to get an IV in her. After six hours in the ER they admitted her for the night. She has been doing a lot better this afternoon. Lots of blood and urine tests, but her color is starting to come back a little and she is acting more and more like herself when the Advil is in her. We also were able to get her to eat for the first time in days, not much, but it's a start. And since she hadn't walked in days we made her walk to the bathroom. Another step to good news! She was happy when Daddy brought up her Batman collection to keep her company until Carter was done with school. Tomorrow she will receive more tests to see if she needs to stay another night.
